Among Regenerate Africa’s other engagements at COP28, our ED Charles Kabiswa also participated in panel event hosted by our thematic partner DCarbon Global.
The event took place on the 5th of December in the RCREEE Pavilion, Blue Zone during COP28 summit and was led by DCarbon Chairperson and CEO Ehab Shalaby.
This side event’s aim was to discuss the current status, opportunities, challenges and innovative solutions towards enhancing investments in renewable energy in Africa. It was intended to shed light on assets undermanagement inflows from all over the world with particular emphasis on GCC.
Our panelists will provide an opportunity to exchange knowledge, experiences, best practices and information among stakeholders and partners on recent developments in the area cooperation and coordination among different stakeholders as well as set recommendations for more smooth and efficient future alignment.
More specifically, the panel objectives were;
- To sketch and analyze the status of the investments in renewable energy in Africa.
- Discuss the importance and the need for a global consolidated action” regarding the African Sustainable Development Strategy 2063
- Identify the benefits, the challenges and recent innovations.
- How to Develop a roadmap towards a global unified action for deployment of renewable energy in Africa to achieving a Win-Win game
The event was a success with many minds coming together aimed at solutions.
