Charles Kabiswa possesses over 16 years of work experience in the field of strategic planning, project planning and management, sustainable environmental and natural resources management aiming at improved livelihoods, food security, risks mitigation, disaster management and resources governance. He worked as the Programs Director for Ecological Christian Organisation for 10years. He has worked as Lecturer and Head of Department of Development Studies at St. Lawrence University for 6years. He has particular experience dealing with rural, urban and hard to reach settings, multiple sectors ranging from the environment, climate, water, land, nature-based enterprise, mining, social protection and agricultural sectors and implementing integrated programs, projects and multiple partnerships and agencies. Charles is a highly self motivated individual with capacity to span disciplines and collaborate with governmental, civil society and private sector stakeholders at community, national and international levels. He has registered success in policy advocacy and has been involved in a number of policy and frameworks review processes including Climate Change Policy and Act, Uganda Nationally Determined Contributions (NDCs), Wetlands Policy and Act, Mining Policy and Bill, National Population Policy, the East African Community and Uganda Population Health and Environment strategies, among others. He holds a Honors Degree in Social Sciences from Makerere University and Masters Degree in Project Management (MPM) from University for International Cooperation (UCI), Costa Rica.
He is currently serving as the Board Chairperson for Community Fund Microfinance (CF-MFI), Country Board Vice Chairperson of Participatory Ecological Land Use Management (PELUM-Uganda). He is also a serving Advisory board of Vision Capital International (VCI) and Happy Bee Honey Ltd. Charles served as an International Advisor to Orphans Foundation Fund (OFF) for 5years. He is a member of Project Management Institute (PMI) and ExpandNet.
